About Me

    People call me Raised By Wolves, Wolves for short. I didn't give myself this name, but after hearing why it still feels accurate: "You climb trees, sleep under desks, and your just... kind of feral." 

    My parents weren't wolves but I grew up in a tiny town in the Central Valley, CA. I played animals all the time as a kid, had a treehouse, tree swing, a fort, I would catch frogs, fish, would roll around with our many different types of pets and I was always barefoot. 

    After graduating in 2005 with an AS in animation, I lived in the LA area for l0 years and moved 12 times trying to find my place and to keep up with shorter commute times. I worked on features films and have an IMDB under my name and have many stories about the industry. 

    I loved film and fashion but what I'm the most passionate about is drawing and creating my own art. I had wall space at a place called The Hive Gallery in Down Town LA and lived at the Brewery Artist Colony for a while before moving out of state. I had grown weary of the city, the lack of nature and wanted to be closer to family so I moved to Bozeman Montana. 

    It took a long time to find friends, they are really good friends but I never found the sort of community I was looking for there. I guess it's the long winters but I eventually started calling the place Booz-man Man-tana. "Where the odds are good but the goods are odd," I was warned about dating there but I didn't really believe it...at first. I was there 11 years. It took me a long time to find the courage to leave but if it wasn't for these experiences I wouldn't have my son. 

    We moved to Albany a little over a year ago and I'm so happy we are here and finding peace again. I was doing well with my art business but now that I'm a solo parent in a new place I'm having to rebuild, refocus, and find the relentless resilience that wolves are known for.
